Hi, Just purchased a new-to-me 2016 Retro 177 and can’t get the darn emergency window to open. Afraid I am going to break something trying. Aren’t they meant to open for fresh air when needed? Anyone have similar issues or know the secret trick to getting it to open properly? Thanks!

Your window should open with little to no effort, with two fingers. Look around the outside edge of the frame to make sure it’s clear and maybe give it a pull. Not to hard though, as I said. Haven’t heard of this issue. Good luck…

Looking at my 2016 177SE, the emergency window looks like 1 piece.  Mine do not look like they open.  Will need to inspect that a little closer.

Should be a bar with a red end. Lift and pull it straight, then push outward. You can lock it into place for ventilation. In case of emergency pop screen out and go…

I can easily open my emergency exit window.  In my 181B it is not the opening of the window that is difficult, it is keeping it open that is the trick.  I have to mess with it to get the little red tab to catch so it stays open.  Does anyone else have this issue?

It is somewhat tedious and may become a job for one of my kids upon setting up camp.
