As we all know space is an issue. We always pack more than we need or can use. Lugging a BBQ can take up room and add weight.

My choice is the Eco Que. Very efficient and collapses to about an inch thick. Comes in two sizes, a 12″ and 15″. Only 9 pieces of charcoal

are needed and heat is regulated by placement of the charcoal. I first bought one about 20 years ago. They stopped manufacturing them

for a while but are now available again.

Fire starters: Regardless of fire… BBQ or fire pit I make my own fire starters. Cardboard egg cartons, dryer lint, and wax (old candles

or paraffin wax). Place dryer lint in egg carton holes and apply a generous amount of wax. After they dry you can cut them in any amount.

I use 2 or 3 in the Eco Que. More for campfires.

Update:

A company called Camp Saver is having a sale on Eco Que’s. I purchased a 15″ model with the griddle accessory, and 3 packs

each of 12″ & 15″ foil liners with free shipping for under $100.00. Score!! Great little unit.
