I know many folks will be upgrading their interior lighting to LED but may find it a bit too bright for them. I thought I would simply add a dimmer and be done with it so I ordered a JR Products dimmer and waited for it to arrive. Alas, dimming LEDs on a 12volt system is not that easy. The standard dimmer available at most RV supplies is what’s called a Low Side dimmer and will indeed work but requires running a ground wire to the light it self. While this is possible it is NOT and easy task. After talking with the engineers at JR they told me about another product they make called a High side dimmer that can be attached to ground at any point not just at the light itself. With this new dimmer in hand the install took about 30 min and the ability to dim the lights to a warm glow in the evening was totally worth the trouble to find the right product. I hope this saves some folks the frustration I went through.

I’m aslo looking for dimmer information. I have a 2017 177se and the reading lights over the bed are so bright that you can get a headache reading with them. First I need to figure out how to get them out, doesn’t look like the cover comes off and I have tried to pull/pry them down but afraid of breaking them. I have seen some you tube videos of dimming RV 12v lights. They work if the LED is a dimmable one. Where did you get your dimmer and what was it? Thanks

Hi,

I upgraded all lights into my 150 with Warm White LEDs and the result is amazing. This is not too much bright and I noticed that the power converter fan does not work anymore when I open the lights.

So, this is the link to amazon (Canadian because i’m).

Warm white (I change all interior lights with those) : https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B073GYFN46/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Cold white (I changed all exterior lights) : https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B072ZX8M12/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Contact JR Products and order a 12v LED Highside dimmer. Run the ground down inside the wall and attach to ground buss bar in the electrical panel.
