We just put a downpayment on a 2014 Retro 177.  We live in Indianapolis.  Our new baby is up in northern Indiana.  Bought it from a gentleman who also owns 29 exotic sports cars.  I sent the VIN to the Riverside factory to see if we needed the Lift kit upgrade.  The frame seemed to be resting right on the axle.  There were skids in the rear on each side forward of the leveling jacks.  I took photos – don’t know if photos can be posted here.

Anyway this is our very first camper.  My wife and I are both semi-retired.  I am an RN.  She is a school social worker.  We just started thinking about this last Thursday.  Looked at a unit for sale locally, a 16′ Shasta in need of a lot of work.  Spent Saturday looking at a dealership.  Got a great education there from the salesmen.  We wanted to keep costs down since we had not done this.  We found out that 6-7K do not get you much.  Drove 100 miles to Cincinnati to look at a couple used units there but were disappointed in what we found.  Saw an ad in a regional auto/rv “magazine” from the supermarket.  That is where we saw our first Retro and fell in love.  We drove the 110 miles up there on Tuesday.  The Retro was in excellent condition, housed next to a Ferrari Spider in a warehouse out in the country.  Agreed on a very fair price.  Plan to pick it up sometime this week.  Planning our first trip the weekend of the 27-28 for my real birthday.  I celebrate a second birthday on August 17, anniversary of my bone marrow transplant 12 years ago for a rare leukemia.  We are looking forward to our new adventure!

Well come to the White Water Retro Forums!

Please share some pictures of your 2014 White Water Retro 177 you can post them here. Look for the button below that says “Attachments” thats how you upload images.  Sounds like you have had a adventure trying to get one of these units. I was in the same situation as you  looking for a Shasta but after reading the reviews I was turned off by them.  There is nothing better then camping with your Retro your going to love it!! Did you figure out if you need a lift kit? I think 2015 is when they started adding the lift kits.
