My husband and I saw the Retro 166 at a recent Rv show and fell in love! We’re in the process of deciding which accessories we want to add, and are curious if anyone has the optional exterior grill? If so, could a picture of it on the camper be posted? I’m having trouble finding any details about this online. Thanks in advance!

I was/am curious about an outside grill option as well.  We were at an RV show in Providence, RI yesterday and saw some TT’s with swing/ grill attachments on the rear bumper (These were not Retro trailers).  The contraption had a clamp that secured around the bumper and then an arm that swung out to sort of wrap around to the side of the trailer.  It was pretty cool.

However, we then went to a local dealer to look at some Retro models.  It clearly stats on the bumper that there can not be any add ons or alterations to the bumper as it will void the warranty.  Being new to this world of travel trailers, that is all I have to offer.

I do like the idea of doing our cooking outside the trailer however.

First of all we bought our Retro 177se used (slept in 2 nights) so no warranty. So kind of a blank canvass to customize. I added a rack on the rear bumper from Harbor Freight. 2500 mile trip I had my portable generator and a couple totes on it. Checked on it often and the welds seem fine. After reading up on it I only have an outdoor mat and 1 tote with our sewer connections in it. Again, I like the look of it but did get rid of some weight.

If you don’t feel safe carrying your BBQ back there, maybe add the rack and carry the BBQ in your truck, then slide it on once you are at camp. I have been thinking about just reenforcing the bumper so I don’t have to worry about it. Good luck…
