I am devastated to report that our Retro 177se fell victim to a falling branch from snow load. It was about a 20′ branch and about 5″ around at the base. Although damage is minimal, it is dented, and will never be the same. Now it’s time to play the insurance game! Fortunately the roof was not punctured, but never the less it is not as it was. We will see how they handle it and what our next move is. Now the snow turns to rain for the next week, so we may add pontoons, as the Rogue River is in our backyard!!

Oh no thats horrible news!  Thats good news that you do have insurance though. I know these trailers have a aluminum frame on them which is suppose to make them a bit stronger. How bad is the dent?

These trailers are so low to the ground you might need pontoons!

That is not good! I hope the insurance company takes care of you. Luckily you have a couple months before it warms up and you can start using your trailer again.

We have a full coverage policy from Progressive. It provides for full replacement in the first 5 years and -5% starting in year 6. Also a $100,000 liability( ie: some child runs through your campsite and trips over your power cord/hose.) Includes towing, money for hotel, food, ect. in case of an accident. Cost is $160.00 per year and decreases yearly. We have had it to 10 years with our last trailer. I will keep you updated.

Thanks for the info! I actually don’t have insurance on mine since its paid off, but if I can get it for that cheap it seems like a no brainer. Please do keep us informed on how they handle this.

Good thing you had insurance! Sorry you have to go through the headaches of a insurance claim.

Not sure if you can get the same kind of policy if you don’t do it when you buy it. We paid cash for our trailers and put the policies in place before taking delivery. Worth a try. We will see how it goes with getting it fixed.

Sorry for the news about your TT. My experience with Progressive is that they treat the insured very well but that the repairers aren’t crazy about them. I guess they are on the shop’s butt pretty consistently until the job is finished.

I have been with them almost 15 years between cars, trucks, motorcycles, and rv’s. I have never had a claim thankfully. So we will see. I have a good agent, so I am hopeful.
