How do you guys transport bikes?  We have a great hitch insert rack that isn’t going to work anymore with the trailer.  I was curious to see if any of you hook a rack to the rear “bumper”.  Or do you use a roof rack system?  I don’t have truck so a bed rack system won’t work for us as we are in a tahoe.

Prior to getting our trailer I was thinking about possibly using the inside of the trailer to house our bikes will on the road.  I will not do that after picking up the trailer for fear of damaging the interior of the trailer.

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,
A.J.

I added a bolt on receiver to my rear trailer bumper and a basket rack from Harbor Freight. There is some concern about weight, the amount the bumper will hold. Also for you it may be a warranty liability, as I think Retro says not to attach anything to the bumper. However, I have towed over 8500 miles with mine and no problems. I do check the bumper welds “often”!!

There is also a double hitch receiver. One for your trailer and one for something else (bike rack). You would have to google it and the see if there is enough room between your truck and trailer. Just a couple of thoughts.

Yes, I have seen the warranty sticker regarding attachments to the bumper on other models I have looked at.  However, mine does not have the sticker and it has the spare attached to the bumper.  I will need to look at the paper work as I would have concerns about weight.  I may look into a roof mount system just to be on the safe side.  Thank you for your thoughts.
